Premier Pathway Launches with Energy and Purpose in EMS ISD

Teachers, principals, and district administrators came together last night to officially kick off Premier Pathway, a new district-wide initiative designed to expand college and career opportunities for Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD students.

Developed in partnership with Tarleton State University, Premier Pathway gives high school students the opportunity to earn up to 45 college credit hours through the Tarleton Today dual credit program. Students who complete the full sequence will graduate “Core Complete,” having fulfilled the 42-credit core curriculum required by Texas public universities, along with an additional three credits that further strengthen their college readiness.

The kickoff event highlighted not only the structure of the program, but also the passion behind it—educators committed to helping students see beyond high school and confidently pursue their future goals.

“Last night was a reminder of how transformational great teachers can be,” said Dr. John Fahey, Director of College, Career and Military Readiness. “The passion and excitement from this group made it clear that Premier Pathway is about more than college credit—it’s about believing in students and helping them see what’s possible.”

Premier Pathway represents a significant step forward in EMS ISD’s commitment to providing meaningful, personalized opportunities that prepare students for success in college, career, and beyond.
